Sporting Activity: Hike to Canuto de la Utrera & Relax in Roman Baths (Apr 22)
Explore the breathtaking Canuto de la Utrera, a hidden gem in Casares featuring dramatic limestone rock formations, lush vegetation, and a fascinating geological landscape. This unique trail takes you through a canyon sculpted by time, offering an immersive experience in one of the most striking natural settings near Estepona.
At the end of the hike, youβll have the opportunity to visit the ancient Roman baths, where natural thermal waters offer a perfect way to unwind and refresh after the walk.
The route is of moderate difficulty, making it an ideal adventure for nature lovers looking for a rewarding yet accessible hike.
This trail is just a short 15/20-minute drive from Estepona, making it an easy and convenient excursion. We recommend sharing an Uber with fellow participants to simplify transportation.
Important Notes for the Hike:
If both parents are joining, please leave the kids at school for 8:45AM and leave for the hike straight after.
Bring food or snacks: The route will take place around lunchtime, as we start at 9:15 AM to allow time for parents to get to salsa. Please bring a sandwich, snacks, or something to eat during the hike.
Trail conditions: The hike is quite rocky and challenging, itβs not an easy, flat walk. Some sections have many rocky steps and trees, and there may be parts where you cross or pass near the river.
Reward at the end: Despite the challenging terrain, the route is worth it for the stunning canyon view at the end.
