Herbal Remedy Workshop (Sep. 27 and Oct. 4)
Unearth the timeless wisdom of Djamoe (or Jamu), ancient herbal remedies steeped in Indonesian heritage, during our immersive Djamoe Workshop with a 4th generation practitioner. Embrace the art of crafting Jamu as we delve into its rich cultural significance and medicinal virtues, cherished and passed down through generations. Engage your senses and curate personalised, natural remedies, awakening a profound connection to nature's healing powers.
Our guide in this workshop will be Claudia Ong, whose great great grandmother Nyonya Meneer first started making traditional Indonesian herbal cures for her husband who complained of severe intestinal pains. Eventually, she set up a business to sell them to others too, and today Nyonya Meneer jamu products are sold throughout Asia.
In the first session, our focus will be on Jamu herbal remedies tailored for adults, delving into the time-honoured practices and medicinal benefits of these traditional concoctions. You will use herbs to improve memory and increase focus as well as eye vision. They will help to relax the mind and body. In the second session, we will shift our attention to crafting kid-specific herbal remedies, ensuring a safe and nurturing experience for our young participants.
