Parents Pottery & Cultural Immersion (Multiple Dates)
Discover a hidden cultural gem in Kita-Kamakura through this rare and intimate Pottery and Cultural Immersion experience.
In this workshop, parents will explore traditional Japanese pottery hands-on and see a 100-year-old nobori-gama (climbing kiln) of the renowned artist Kitaōji Rosanjin and used by artists including Isamu Noguchi. The kiln is still fired during special biannual firings, preserving a craft passed down through generations.
The experience takes place in a private 60-year-old traditional Japanese home, a place not open to the public and normally accessible by invitation only. During your visit, you’ll also step into a beautiful Kyoto-style tea room. Our tea master will serve seasonal Japanese sweets and tea while sharing insights into Japanese traditions, history, and culture.
This is more than a workshop — it’s a chance to slow down, create with your hands, and immerse yourself in the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality.
