In this after-school program, children will experience the excitement of surfing while connecting with Kamakura’s coastal lifestyle.
Led by experienced instructors from Kamakura Surfriders Club, students will learn the basics of surfing in a safe and supportive environment. Through guided practice in the water, children will develop balance, confidence, and ocean awareness while enjoying the natural beauty of Kamakura’s beaches.

This program encourages children to stay active, challenge themselves, and develop a connection with the ocean while learning a sport that is part of Kamakura’s local culture.

Rental Surfboards
Rental Wetsuits
Access to changing room
What to Bring:
Swimsuit (to wear under the wetsuit)
Towel
Water bottle
Sunscreen
Important Things to Note:
Participants must be able to swim to join this activity.
Children will have time to move from the EC and prepare from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
The lesson takes place from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Schedule:
Every Wednesday - 8 sessions (April 29 is skipped due to public holiday. May 6 is skipped due to half-term break)

Location: Kamakura Surfriders Club (30 minutes walk from EC or 15 minutes bus)
Time: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Pick-up time: 5:30 PM sharp from Kamakura Surfriders Club

No. of Sessions: 8
Minimum Participants Required: 2
Maximum Participants: 6
Terms & Conditions:
A crew member will escort the children to the location for each class. The parents will pick up the kids directly from Kamakura Surfriders Club at 17:30.
Deadline for Sign-Up: Thursday, April 9, 12:00 PM
Half-Term Break: No ECAs during the week of May 4, as the Education Center will be closed.
Refund Policy: Families have up to 24 hours after the first class (16:30 the next day) to decide to drop out and receive a refund for the remaining sessions. If the first session was attended, a one-off cost and a 10% processing fee will be deducted from the total reimbursed amount. After this 24-hour period, refunds will no longer be available. Please note that the activity have fixed dates and there no refunds for missed the classes.
