ECA Cultural Immersion (Age 4-7)
In this program, children will be able to experience the rich and deep culture Japan has to offer, from tea culture, history, to various traditional crafts. Students will explore, experiment and learn through practice.
What to Expect:
Over the course of 7 sessions, children will go through 3 fields of practice, The Culture of Tea, The Art of Kamakura Engraving, and Japanese Confectionaries (Sweets), under the guidance of masterful senseis.
In the Tea session, they will learn the culture and history of tea, the type of leaves, how to brew them, and experiment! In the Kamakura Engraving sessions, they will learn about the arts and craft of traditional wood engraving, and also make a simple wooden cutlery. In the Japanese Confectionary sessions, they will further learn the kind of food / sweets that goes with tea, make them, and have the chance to use the wooden cutlery they have made in the previous sessions as well.
This program aims to help children explore their curiosity, build their confidence, raise cultural awareness, while introducing them to the different worlds of art and craft of Japan and how they complement each other.

Every Monday (Feb. 9 and 23 are skipped due to half-term break and public holidays)

Terms & Conditions:
Deadline for Sign-Up: Thursday, January 15th - 12:00 PM
Half-Term Break: No ECAs during the week of February 9th, as the Education Center will be closed.
Refund Policy: Families have up to 24 hours after the first class (16:30 the next day) to decide to drop out and receive a refund for the remaining sessions. If the first session was attended, a one-off cost and a 10% processing fee will be deducted from the total reimbursed amount. After this 24-hour period, refunds will no longer be available. Please note that the activity have fixed dates and there no refunds for missed the classes.
