The Way of Tea – Parents Experience (Feb. 26th)
The Way of Tea – Parents Experience (Feb. 26th)
Step into the quiet rhythm of the tea ceremony at Ho-an (宝庵), a traditional tea house, bout 100 years old, nestled within the serene grounds of Takara-no-Niwa in Kita-Kamakura. Surrounded by nature and far from the rush of daily life, Ho-an offers an intimate setting where time seems to slow down.
Guided by tea ceremony instructor Kuroda-sensei, parents will experience the fundamentals of sadō (The Way of Tea) in an authentic tatami tea room—learning not only the gestures and etiquette, but also the spirit of mindfulness, care, and presence that lies at the heart of the practice.
This experience is not about perfection, but about pausing, observing, and sharing a quiet moment together in a space that has long been dedicated to calm and contemplation.
A gentle introduction to Japanese culture, and a rare opportunity to experience tea as it has been practiced for generations.
