Authentic Candombe Experience 🪘🛢️

Join us for a cultural session where families will experience the rhythm, history, and spirit of traditional Uruguayan Candombe.

This special gathering is designed to bring you closer to one of Uruguay’s most iconic cultural expressions, offering an understanding of its origins, meaning, and living tradition.

We will meet at Checa y Tomate Restaurant, where a coffee and a tasting of a traditional local snack will be included. There will be an introduction and explanation about Candombe, followed by a short demonstration by the musicians.

Afterwards, we will recreate a traditional “Desfile”, walking through the street together with the musicians as they play the drums, heading towards the EC, where we will meet the children and share the final part of the performance with them.

We invite anyone who has their own drums and would like to bring them to interact with the artists, you are more than welcome to join and be part of the rhythm!

Description:

Start by meeting others at Checa y Tomate Restaurant at 2:00 pm to enjoy a coffee and taste a traditional local snack while we wait for the show to begin. It will be a casual and welcoming space to connect and relax.

The local musicians will prepare the drums, followed by an introductory talk about Candombe and its importance in Uruguayan culture.

After the introduction and rhythm demonstration, we will follow the musicians as they walk and play through the street on the way to the EC (about one block away), recreating the feeling of a traditional llamada. There we will meet the children and share with them a little more about our Candombe tradition.

The experience will conclude with a live Candombe performance and everyone dancing together with the kids — get ready to listen, feel, and move to the rhythm of the drums.

Each individual must purchase an individual ticket to secure their spot.

Pricing analysis: The final price includes a 15% Boundless Life fee (12% management fee + 3% card processing fee).
