Parents' Give Back at Cozinha Com Alma: Prepare & Package areias (June 19)
Join us for a volunteer morning at Cozinha com Alma, where we’ll roll up our sleeves to prepare and package areias, a traditional and beloved Portuguese shortbread made in their kitchen, and one of their key products used for their fundraising and community engagement.
About Cozinha com Alma
Cozinha com Alma is a social project built on a simple idea: good food can create dignity, stability, and breathing room for families going through difficult times. They run a public takeaway where profits from daily customers help fund subsidised meals for families facing financial hardship. Beyond food, they provide mentoring, coaching, budgeting guidance, and employability support, helping people regain stability, autonomy, and confidence.
Why your morning matters
Every batch of areias you help make directly contributes to families accessing nutritious food with dignity. You won't just be lending a hand for a few hours: you'll be part of the engine that keeps this work going.
What to expect
A hands-on, welcoming morning working alongside the CCA team, with the chance to learn more about their work, the families they support, and the role volunteers play within it. Come ready to get floury, meet the people behind the project, and leave knowing exactly where your morning went.
A note on commitment
As places are limited and preparations are based on confirmed numbers, please only register if you're able to attend. If your plans change, let us know as soon as possible, or please find another parent to replace you, the team will be counting on us!
Minimum participants: 6
Maximum participants: 15
Date: Friday, 19th of June
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Location / Meeting Point: Cozinha Com Alma, Alcabideche (15-minute drive from Sintra)
Transport: Please make your own way there & back :-)
