Crew-led Coastal Hike From Azenhas do Mar to Adraga & Picnic on the Beach! (March 24)
Join the crew as we approach the end of the cohort with a friendly hike to enjoy the scenic views of Sintra’s coastline over the Atlantic Ocean.
Our hike will start in the postcard perfect village of Azenhas do Mar, with its charming local houses, and continue along the coast to Praia das Maçãs, a classic spot loved by both locals and visitors. From there, we will walk up to the next beach, enjoying the beautiful views over the ocean. We will take in the scenery of Praia Pequena ("Small Beach") from the top of the cliff before continuing to Praia Grande ("Big Beach"), known for its wide sandy stretch and impressive cliffs.
From Praia Grande, we will walk up to the highest cliff on our route, where we will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the coastline. Our journey will end at Adraga Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, surrounded by majestic cliffs facing the ocean.
Most of the route will take place along trails and across the sandy stretches of the beaches. We will even cross a creek! The pace will be relaxed so that you can fully enjoy the breathtaking coastal views, while exercising, socializing, and appreciating the outdoors.
In the spirit of community, we’ll reward ourselves with a group picnic on the beach once we reach Adraga. Everyone is encouraged to bring something that we can all then share together, and we’ll make sure to bring some beach balls along with us too if anyone wants to get some beach games going!
