Family Give Back: Help Quinta do Pisão Rebuild Their Organic Community Garden
Get ready to roll up your sleeves for a morning of community solidarity as we support the recovery of the beautiful Quinta do Pisão’s Organic Garden!
Following January’s heavy storms, the garden at Quinta do Pisão was subject to severe flooding and subsequent crop loss. Now, they are in the process of rebuilding, and we have the opportunity to lend a helping hand.
This public garden is more than a place where vegetables grow. It’s a space created for the local community, dedicated to accessible organic food at fair prices, ecological education, and respect for the land. It’s agriculture guided by passion and purpose over profit, where regenerative farming practices protect and enrich the land & soil for future generations, and accessibility reconnects people to where their food comes from.
By helping them, we support a model rooted in education, accessibility, and long-term ecological care to support future generations.
What to Expect
Tasks will be determined based on the group size and what is most needed on that particular day.
If we have a larger group, we may create different stations (possibly even including a bread-making station!) so families can rotate between activities and experience different aspects of the space.
This is a hands-on outdoor activity designed for all ages and a chance to learn more about regenerative agriculture while working side by side as a community.

About Quinta do Pisão’s Organic Garden:
This garden is part of Cascais’ wider community agriculture movement, which puts people, education, and access to sustainable food at its heart. Through the Terras de Cascais network, similar socially driven projects have taken root across the municipality, including therapeutic and reintegration gardens developed with local institutions, such as a women’s prison garden initiative that has helped inmates gain practical skills and successfully reintegrate into the community.
