From Forest to Feast: Oysters of the Land (Feb. 6)
Join Zé for a Foraging & Culinary Adventure in the Serra de Sintra!
Step off the beaten path and into the enchanting Serra de Sintra for a hands-on journey of mushroom foraging, cooking, and tasting, all guided by Zé, a true local who knows these forests like the back of his hand.
This isn’t just a hike: Zé will introduce you to edible mushrooms, teaching you how to identify and responsibly harvest them along the scenic trails. Learn the secrets of the forest and hear stories that connect nature, tradition, and the land.
After our walk, we’ll head to a nearby house in Sintra where the magic continues. Through a live showcooking session, Zé (who wears many hats, one of them being a chef!) will show you how to turn your foraged finds into a mouth-wateringly delicious 3-course meal. Each participant will also craft their very own jar of mushroom preserves to take home, a tangible memory of your day in the forest.
Expect a hands-on, immersive experience that blends nature, culinary delight, and local knowledge, perfect for those curious about gastronomy, mushrooms, and the magic of Sintra.
Schedule: Friday, February 6th from 10 AM – 3 PM
Meeting Point: First part in the Serra de Sintra; second part at a house in Sintra (exact locations shared after registration)
Minimum Participants: 10 adults
Maximum Participants: 15 adults
Not Included: Transport to the meeting point & transport from the home back to Sintra. Feel free to contact our transfer partner Avenidas to organize transport there and back.
