Discover the rich tradition of sailing in Greece, where the early seafaring civilization of the Greeks led to the exploration of new places with powerful fleets.
During our introduction to sailing lesson children will have the chance to:
learn about boat parts,
boat preparation,
basic knot tying,
and sailing techniques.

Schedule: Wednesday, except October 28th

Location: Sailing Club in Agkathopes Beach
Time: 3:30pm-7:30pm
Ages: 8-12 years old
Minimum Participants Required: 7
Maximum Participants: 10
Important notes for parents:
Doctor’s note: A doctor’s clearance from a cardiologist is required for participation.
(We can assist you in arranging a visit with a local cardiologist if needed. The examination cost is around 15-20 euros per child. If you already have a note from your own healthcare provider, (examined after September 1st 2025), please share it with us so we can confirm whether it meets the local requirements.)
Life vest & Wet suit: Families must provide their own life vest, which can be brought or bought locally, with prices ranging from 20-40 euros. We can recommend local or online stores. Also, a wet suit might be required.
Necessary to have: Swimsuit, slippers, towel, sunscreen (must be applied half an hour before), change of clothes, snack
Extra snack: Please pack extra snacks on that day, as the activity ends at 7:30 pm
Requirement for participation: Ability to swim
Transportation Included: Yes, with a trusted chaperone included
Sailing lesson structure:
Two instructors will be present throughout the session. Children will rotate one by one in the training sailboat, while the rest of the group stays with the instructor in the support speedboat, observing and learning together in the bay.
Time schedule:
3:30pm- 4:00pm - Transfer & change outfit
4pm-7:00pm - Lesson
7:00pm-7:30pm - Wrap up & transfer
7:30 - Pickup up by parents at port parking
Important information: Please note that weather conditions might necessitate adjustments to the teaching material, such as including more theory, individual practice in shallow waters close to shore or in cases of severe weather, rescheduling the lesson to a different date.
Terms & Conditions:
Deadline for Sign-Up: Thursday, September 10th 10, 12pm Local Time
Age limit: Eligible participants must be between 8 and 12 years of age, having reached their 8th birthday prior to the activity start date.
Half-Term Break: No ECAs during the week of October 12-16, as the education center will be closed.
