From Body to Soul - Philosophy Journey

You may have come to yoga for the physical practice. But yoga has always been about more than the shape of the body.

This is an eight-week journey for people who want to explore what happens when movement becomes a way of understanding ourselves. Each Friday we take one idea from the yogic tradition and explore it through a strong, breath-led Vinyasa practice. Not as a lecture. As something you feel in your body first and recognize in your week afterwards.

What to Expect

Each 60-minute session combines dynamic Vinyasa with intelligent sequencing and room to find your own edge, breathwork connecting movement and awareness, one philosophical theme introduced through practice rather than explained at you, and time to pause and notice what the practice is showing you.

Why 8 weeks?

The workshop is structured in a way that each session builds on the previous one.

1) Svadhyaya (Know Yourself): How do you respond when something gets difficult? Push, avoid, compare, give up? The practice becomes a mirror.

2) Ahimsa (How We Meet Ourselves): Strength does not have to mean force. Where is the line between challenging yourself and fighting yourself?

3) Sthira & Sukha (Effort & Ease): Can you be strong without becoming rigid?

4) Aparigraha (Letting Go): What happens when you stop trying to control the outcome?

5) Tapas (Stay With It): Discipline, commitment, and the willingness to remain present when things are uncomfortable.

6) Pratipaksha Bhavana (Choose Your Response): There is a space between what happens and how we react. Can we widen it?

7) Santosha (Enough): What if this moment did not need to be different? This is my favourite!

8) Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender): We make the effort. Then we let go of needing to control the result. This is our final gathering, my goodbye to you, and your time to say goodbye to the group. After seven intense sessions, this one is just about letting it all settle. It’s a very real, emotional close to our time together, and it's the one session most people hold onto for a long time after they’ve left the island.

Who This Is For

What matters most is curiosity, and a willingness to look at yoga as something more than exercise.

A quick heads-up: this is not an entry-level class. You do not need to be advanced, but absolute beginners will feel lost. If you have good control of your body, whether from yoga, Pilates or similar mindful movement, you are welcome here!
